Robert Pattinson Cuts Rugged Figure in Russia GQ (photos)

Robert Pattinson Cuts Rugged Figure in Russia GQ (photos) 1Robert Pattinson extends his brand eastward as he kicks back for the February 2012 issue of Russian GQ magazine. The “Twilight Breaking Dawn” star will also see his next feature “Bel Ami” screened in Berlin.

It’s hard to tell whether Rob actually visited Russia for the interview or whether it was a phoner. Judging by the photos, which are not new, he more than likely called this one in.

Still, the magazine’s choice of photos is interesting. They seemed to want to focus on more Rob the person, rather than any of his movie characters. The photos are from around the time he was filming “Cosmopolis.” His hair is short on the sides and he has a rugged looking heavy stubble.

Pattinson, 25, recently picked up a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Drama for his film “Water for Elephants,” with Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz.

The next of his films to hit the big screen will be “Bel Ami.” It’s world premiere will take place at the Berlin International Film Festival next month. But it will not be competing for awards.

The film also stars Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Holliday Grainger, Philip Glenister, Colm Meaney and Natalia Tena.

Glenister, whose character is married to Thurman’s character (known as “The Thermanator” on set) talked about his role and joked about working with Rob. “[Uma] has a very powerful presence and she’s taller than me, then that ugly geezer Robert Pattinson turns up and shags everything that moves. Apart from me, thank goodness.” he told London’s Evening Standard.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Lionsgate (which owns Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment) says the “Twilight” series could continue after Breaking Dawn Part 2 comes out next fall.

“It’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value,” Jon Feltheimer told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is ‘Boy, I hope so.'”

Neither Rob nor Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan, are likely to be part of another film, he said.

“Breaking Dawn Part 2,” which co-stars Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene, hits theaters Nov. 16.
