Andrew Garfield swings as Spider-Man in a new trailer for the reboot, “The Amazing Spider-Man.” It features sexy Emma Stone, action-packed scenes and dazzlingly realistic computer-generated graphics.

The 2:34 trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man!” was released at midnight and Director Marc Webb takes the movie to an even darker place, suggesting almost a film-noir feel.

Garfield is joined by Chris Zylka, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen and Embeth Davidtz. But the real standout is Rhys Ifans as Spider-Man’s nemisis, Dr. Curt Connors.

Connors is the former partner of Peter Parker’s father. In this film version, Parker’s parents mysteriously disappear and Peter searchs to find out why. Leary plays the police inspector father of Gwen Stacy (Stone), Peter’s high school classmate and love interest.

The clip opens with foreboding background music as the New York City skyline comes into view and Spider-Man flashes across the screen, web-swinging among the skyscrapers. Garfield is a credible Parker/Spider-Man. He replaced Tobey Maguire, who starred in three Spider-Man films.
