Kris Humphries Talks Peace, Readies War With Kim Kardashian 1Kris Humphries is keeping it together after his hugely public thrashing by estranged wife Kim Kardashian. Playing baskeball is his therapy. So the big question is was the marriage real?

“I mean, to me it was real,” Humphries, 27, told Access Hollywood’s Jill Martin today (Feb. 9).

“You know, I would never go through something, do something, that wasn’t real or I didn’t believe in, so I can really only speak for myself in terms of that,” he said.

Beyond that, the New Jersey Nets basketball player didn’t say much more about his soon-to-be ex-wife. He’s letting his lawyers do the talking in law court, while he’s doing his talking on the basketball court.

“I’m in a great place — above all, my faith in God, and just how close my family is, and then the fact that, you know, luckily we didn’t get locked out all season and we’re playing basketball,” he said.

So far, Humphries, who signed a one-year contract with the Nets, is having a banner year on the hardwoods. He had a game-high 16 rebounds in the Nets loss to the Detroit Pistons Wednesday (Feb. 8). It was typical of his play this year.

Even though he’s drawing heckles almost everywhere he plays, he’s averaging a career high in points scored, 13.4 per game, and rebounds,10.8, according to the New York Daily News. He was called the Nets’ only reliable inside presence.

In the team’s last win, Friday (Feb. 3) against the Cleveland Cavaliers, he scored 18 points and 11 rebounds. He’s averaging double points and double rebounds this season, a so-called double-double.

“You know, basketball is where you can go and not think about anything and just let loose. I always tell people basketball is like my therapy. Some people talk to psychologists, and I just go and play basketball,” he said.

Meanwhile, his lawyers have seized on a scene in Jan. 8 episode of “Kourtney & Kim take New York,” during which Kim appears has a soulful talk about her marriage with her momager Kris Jenner.

Although the scene was portrayed as taking place in Dubai in October, other compelling evidence suggests it was shot in December in a Los Angeles sound studio and inserted in the program. TheImproper first reported suspicions about the scene on Jan. 9.

According to reports, Humphries’ lawyers believe the scene is evidence that Kardashian staged the wedding for publicity and a big payday. The basketball player is seeking an annulment based on fraud.
