Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron made a surprised fans at WonderCon, where they joined “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders to talk about the film. Theron promptly stole the show.
After playing a home wrecker in Jason Reitman’s “Young Adult,” then jumping right into the role as the evil queen, an audience member noted that Theron was “playing evil really, really well.”
“That’s because I’m a bitch,” Theron said, breaking up the audience. “Picasso had his blue period, and this is my bitch period.”
When asked about her character, she replied: “Everybody has an idea of her,” Theron said with a wry smile, “and there’s something nice about f—ing with that idea.”
For Stewart, playing Snow White in a much darker telling of the tale, didn’t come without its bumps and bruises. “I hurt myself, a lot,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to do a f—ing bad-ass action movie.”
So much so, Stewart revealed that she did much of her own stunt work. “Everything I wanted [Snow White] to be is there, and that’s really rare… It was cool to have all that… [and to be] kicking the s**t out of someone.
The inevitable comparisons came up between Stewart’s “Twilight” character Bella and Snow White. “I love that character [of Bella], and Snow White couldn’t be much farther from it.”
Stewart will be laying claim to the big-screen this year. Snow White will hit theaters June 1, and she’ll also appear in “On the Road,” based on the Jack Kerouac book and in the fall “Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 2.”
