Katy Perry Throws Down 'N****s In Paris' Rap (watch!) 11

Katy Perry raps. It could be the day hell freezes over, but the pop princess got down to some serious rapping in London. She covered Jay-Z’s and Kanye West’s hit “N****s In Paris.”

Go figure. Perry might be the last person in the world to rap a song. Then, again, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have all adopted rap alter egos. What could be stranger than that?

The 27-year-old singer broke into the song on the BBC’s Radio 1 Live Lounge,. She not only rapped but it was an acoustic version of the song from the 2011 collaboration Watch The Throne.

Perry could be unveiling a new version of herself in the wake of her divorce from comedian Russell Brand after 14 months of marriage. She has become decidedly edgier in the past several weeks.

She wore a skin-tight black and gold dress and Yankees cap. Perry previously had featured West in her E.T. video and song. But she knew she was in uncharted territory with N****s.”

“Well, I just want to say we’re gonna skate to one song and one song only,” she said. “This is about to get real embarrassing.”

She cleaned up the lyrics and fell short of supersonic rap speed like the original. “I definitely was not rapping,” she said after finishing the song.

Perry is also getting ready to collaborate with Rihanna, who is the queen of pop raunch.

The Barbadian is looking forward to mixing it up with her BFF. “We have been working on this for years,” the pop starlet told “Access Hollywood.”

“We still are trying to make a song together. She is one of my favorite musicians, as well as one of my favorite people in the industry. She’s very uncalculated, very sure of herself, and that’s something that’s very rare in this industry.”
