Camille Grammer: Too Big for Beverly Hills Housewives? 1Did Camille Grammer get too big for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” or did her life get too small for the Bravo reality show? It could be a little of both. In any event, she’s history.

Camille may be the first reality housewife to leave any of the Bravo shows with at least some shred of dignity. Usually they are booted off the show kicking, screaming and feeling somewhat humiliated.

After all, getting dropped from a reality show that’s supposed to feature people with interesting lives really means your life just isn’t that interesting. Such was the case with New York housewives Kelly Bensimon, Alex McCord and Jill Zarin.

Grammer revealed that the show’s producers wanted more drama from her if she stayed for another season. “I was not fired,” the reality personality told AOL’s Rob Shuter in a statement.

“I didn’t want to expose my personal life so much anymore. I had done that and was over that. I care very much for my family and children and that show tends to take me away from them. I really want to focus on them right now.”

As Shuter notes, Camille was singing a very different tune only two months ago. “I had a good year, so I would want to go back for a third season, but they haven’t asked me yet, so I wonder what’s going on with that,” she said.

“Bravo wanted her back but, like with all the ladies on the show, was very clear about what they expected from her: drama. They loved Camille during the first two seasons when her marriage fell apart so publicly and she was going through a nasty custody and financial battle with her ex.

“But now all that is behind her and [she] is enjoying a peaceful life and refuses to change that just to stay on a reality TV Show,” a source said.

If that’s true, then cudos for Camille. Bensimon thoroughly humiliated herself on the show by ginning up a nervous breakdown to keep the viewers sated. And Bravo dropped her anyway.

Grammer doesn’t need the money, thanks to Kelsey, so why fake it?
