Kim Kardashian Day of Reckoning: Nasty Divorce Trial Still On 1

Kim Kardashian may yet live to regret the hasty end of her marriage to Kris Humphries after 72 days and her rough treatment of the NBA star on her reality show afterward. Humphries shows no signs of backing away from his demand for a fraud trial.

That’s the upshot of the latest round of hearings today (Nov. 28). Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephen Moloney gave Humphries wide latitude to complete his investigation in to the circumstances surrounding the marriage.

Kardashian’s and Humphries’ whirlwind romance was capped by a lavish $18-million wedding that proved to be a big payday for Kim and the producers of her reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

But things between the two unwound quickly afterward and Kardashian declared the marriage over and filed for divorce on Halloween in 2011. She pledged to remain friends but that never happened.

On the following season of her reality show, “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” she savaged Humphries to explain the reasons for the divorce and deflect some of the huge backlash her decision caused. That only inflamed Humphries, who claimed he was manipulated. He also charged that scenes were faked to make Kim more sympathetic.

As things now stand, Moloney gave Humphries until Feb. 15 to continue gathering evidence. The judges wants to set a trial date at that time, according to The Associated Press. Humphries’ attorney Marshall Waller said he’s awaiting documents from E! Entertainment and NBC Universal before deciding how to present his case.

Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, and boyfriend, Kanye West, have given preliminary testimony in the case, while Kim has yet to be questioned, Wasser told the AP.

Will Kim get her come uppance in court? Stay tuned, but don’t expect to see it as an episode on her show. click here to follow TheImproper on Twitter for the latest Kardashian trial updates you can trust.
