Amanda Seyfriedwill return to on-screen nudity in her upcoming bio-pic “Lovelace.” She’s more experienced than young Hollywood contemporaries thanks to her 2009 role in the movie “Chloe.” A look back at that film shows her at her erotic best.
Her upcoming film ia about pioneering ’70s era porn star Linda Lovelace. She starred in the movie “Deep Throat,” which re-wrote the book on adult films.
Lovelace later claimed she was brutally coerced into taking the part. Her life after the movie as an anti-porn crusader was cut short by a car accident. She died in April 2002 at 53, without recovering consciousness from her traumatic injuries.
Kate Hudson was initially set to play the role, but when she became pregnant, Seyfried, 27, stepped into the picture. It’s now in post-production and will be released early in 2013.
Although she’ll appear on-screen naked far more in “Lovelace,” she credits “Chloe” for giving her the confidence to go for the part.
“My publicist and my mother didn’t want me to do ‘Chloe’ because there was a lot of nudity,” she told Britain’s OK magazine. But her agent pointed out that it was a “really, really good role.”
She worked opposite Julianne Moore, who is a veteran of nude scenes in a number of movies, including “The End of the Affair,” “The Big Lebowski,” “Boogie Nights,” “Body of Evidence” and “Short Cuts.”
She credits Moore for helping her get through “Chloe,” including their Lesbian tryst. In “Lovelace,” she had the luxury of picking her co-star, Peter Sarsgaard, whom she called the best actor she’s ever worked with.
“It’s not about my body. It’s not about me. You’re playing somebody else,” she said about the role. “What surprised me is the amount of pubic hair!”
