The DJs have apologized profusely for the tragedy and have been pulled from the air by the station, which has pledged $500,000 to Saldanha’s family. They are currently in hiding because of death threats.
In a separate letter, the contents of which were revealed earlier in the week, the nurse also blamed hospital staff for the way she was treated in the wake of the prank. The DJs claimed to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, father of Prince William.
Among other new developments, Saldanha may have first tried committing suicide by slashing her wrists.
