Kristen Stewart’s new “I-don’t-give-a-sh*t” attitude could be doing more damage to her post-“Twilight” acting career than she realizes. Alienating fans is the fastest way to the D-list no matter how much acting integrity you think you have.

In an interview with USAToday, Stewart made clear she doesn’t give a damn about what anybody thinks of her.

“People think they knew a lot about me before. They know even less now,” she told the paper. “I’m just going to live my life, actually.”

She struck the same tone in an earlier interview with Newsweek. “It’s not a terrible thing if you’re either loved or hated,” she told the magazine. “But honestly, I don’t care ’cause it doesn’t keep me from doing my sh*t.”

Oh… but it could, and it will if she’s not careful.

Stewart has gone through tabloid hell as a result of her cheating scandal with “Snow White and the Huntsman” Director Rupert Sanders.

Of course, she has no one to blame but herself. But as a result, she’s gone from being everyone’s darling to a highly polarizing figure.

Right now she’s at a tipping point. The fact that cuckolded boyfriend Robert Pattinson took her back, or seemingly so, is a big plus. But if she continues to alienate fans with a surly attitude, the negatives could quickly build up.

Once you alienate enough fans, you start placing your career in jeopardy. Your box office appeals starts falling and people avoid your movies no matter how good “your sh*t” is.

She says the tabloids write “the most disjointed, uninformed, and completely unsatisfying and completely depressing [stuff]” about her. She’s got that right. But who’s fault is that?

She needs to regain control of her public image and give people a reason to like her, again. A bad attitude is the exact wrong way to do it.
