Scarlett Johansson looks stunningly girlish in the latest issue of British Elle. She’s one of Hollywood’s reigning blonde bombshells and channels another blonde bombshell, ’50s siren Janet Leigh in her new movie “Hitchcock.”
Johansson, 28, is also starring in another mid-20th Century throwback on Broadway, Tennessee Williams’ classic play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
She’s mesmerizing audiences with her smoldering sexuality as “Maggie the Cat” opposite Benjamin Walker as her repressed, alcoholic and closet homosexual husband Brick. Theatergoers are flocking to see her on stage.

Her seven preview shows grossed $843,215 over the holidays, besting three previous revivals, starring Anika Noni Rose in 2008, Ashley Judd in 2003 and Kathleen Turner in 1990, according to industry trade group The Broadway League.
The February issue of the UK magazine plays off her role in Hitchcock and the 1955 Pulitzer Prize winning play. Johansson channels ’50s-era glam in front of photographer John Rankin Waddell, who goes professionally by the name Rankin.
“I feel like I’ve been transitioning from young woman into womanhood for a very long time,” she tells the magazine. “Now as I approach 30, with the last few years behind me, I feel like growing pains are behind me,” she adds. “It’s just nice to feel happy.”
Scarlett describes her Hitchcock character as “a kind of funny, sexy, confident broad who was able to have something more like a friendship with Hitchcock.” Sounds like Scarlett to a tee. Don’t grow up too soon.
