Kim Kardashian wants desperately to be seen as an upstanding mom, not just another rapper’s baby mama. There’s only one problem, she’s still married to NBA basketball player Kris Humphries, and could be for some time to come.

Kardashian filed for divorce in October 2011. But Humphries countersued seeking an annulment on the grounds of marital fraud.

Neither side, so far, has budged and inch. Barring unforeseen legal maneuvering, the case appears headed for a full-blown trial sometime in the spring this year.

The way things are going, Kim could have her baby with rapper Kayne West while still married to the Brooklyn Nets power forward.

She appeared on radio show Sway in the Morning yesterday to talk about her new show, “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.” But invariably the divorce came up.

“In a perfect world, of course I would love to be divorced,” she said. “[The marriage] is going on its second year, and that’s really tough because I want to move on. I really want to move on with my life.”

There have been some reports that Kim and Kayne might hold a “commitment ceremony” to try to provide some legitimacy to their relationship before the baby is born. But that drew hoots on the Internet.

Kim still maintained that she was in love when she got hitched in a blowout $18 million wedding that yielded a slew of product endorsements and two one-hour television specials. But 72 days later, she called off the marriage, a moved that shattered her image.

But Kim insisted she’s no fraud. “He’s claiming that I [committed fraud] … Who would ever do that? It’s just not who I am. All those fake and fraud rumors got started because of that, and we have to deal with that and handle that,” she said.

Kardashian said she decided to end the marriage rather than “waste a year of my life not being happy.”

“I knew the whole world was going to bash me. I knew that. I said to myself, ‘What’s more important? My life and my happiness, or what the whole world thinks of me?’ [Staying married] would be vain. That would be fake. That would be doing it for publicity.”

“Kourtney & Kim Take Miami” debuts Sun. Jan. 20 on the E! Entertainment Network.
