jessicachastain-fallonJessica Chastain scored a Golden Globe for her role in “Zero Dark Thirty.” But it wasn’t always that way. She told Jimmy Fallon last night (Jan. 18) that she worked long and hard at some pretty odd jobs before making it as an actress.

The stunning, red-haired beauty really only broke out last year in films Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life” with Brad Pitt and Sean Penn and “The Help,” for which she was nominated for an Oscar.

While the Golden Globes are widely derided, Chastain said the award meant a lot to her.

“I’ve worked for so long. I mean, I went to college for (acting); I had really odd jobs as an actress when I couldn’t get an audition,” she said.

“One time, someone paid me a hundred bucks and I wore a Mickey Mouse costume and went to a child’s birthday,” say said, breaking out her Mickey Mouse voice.

Surprisingly, she was the first recipient of a scholarship program set up by Robin Williams. She used the money to go to New York’s prestigious Julliard.

She’s making the rounds in New York to promote her upcoming film “Mama.” The horror film, directed by Andres Muschietti, hit theaters yesterday (Jan. 18).

Jessica, who wore a Roksanda Illincic dress with Jimmy Choos, also revealed more about her “Zero Dark Thirty” character. She’s up for an Academy Award for her role as a CIA agent, who specializes in tracking people down.
