Shain Gandee was the breakout star on MTV’s reality show ‘Buckwild.’

Shain Gandee, a West Virginia good ole boy who tasted fame on the MTV reality show “Buckwild,” was found dead today, along with his uncle David Gandee and another man, in what looks like a lone car accident on a narrow road in a remote area of Kanawah County.

No foul play is suspected at the moment but the local sheriff’s office is investigating, according to local reports.

Shain, 21, and his 48-year-old uncle were last in contact with friends and relatives around 3am Sunday morning. He had been missing for 31 hours before the truck he was riding in was found near his home outside of Sissonville, West Va.

Gandee and his uncle reportedly had planned to go four-wheeling after spending most of Saturday night in a Sissonville bar.

At first many fans thought reports of his death were an April Fool’s Day hoax. But

What MTV Had to Say: “We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly.”

Investigators have made no determination yet involving events leading up to their deaths, but alcohol seems to be a factor.
