Kate Upton and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs were dating for a tabloid minute, until they revealed they’ve never met.

It’s safe to stare at Kate Upton’s breasts again. Despite a frenzy of tabloid reports that she is dating music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, the story couldn’t be further from the truth. This from the “D” man himself and the Double-D cup herself.

Combs shouted out today (Apr. 10) that is is 100 percent not involved with the hottest model in fashion. In fact, he doesn’t even know her!

“Attn all Media. I don’t even know Kate Upton personally! I’m not dating her! What’s being reported is not true. END of story!” the 43-year-old rapper Tweeted.

Upton also weighed in with her own Tweet: Really??? Not at all true..“@TheCut: .@KateUpton and @IamDiddy seen sucking face and dining out!”

The rumor got started after old-line media outlet, The New York Daily News, reported that Diddy and Upton, 20, were spotted together in Miami, Mar. 24 at the LIV club. They were “kissing,” according to an eyewitness, like really deep, hot and heavy lover kisses.

Of course, when a supposedly “reputable” tabloid reports something like that, it touches off a media free-for-all. Even the snooty USAToday, eagerly trumpeted the rumor.

Gawker, a “new media” outlet that takes great pride in poking fun at old media outlets, tossed skepticism aside and jumped on the Diddy-Upton bandwagon.

Other major outlets, from the HuffingtonPost to the trashy end of the spectrum like Fox News and HollywoodLife, were equally guilty.

Diddy definitely has an eye for fetching models. He was most recently linked to Cassie, a singer, model and actress.

Upton reportedly broke up with star Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander around Valentine’s Day, so the story seemed like it could be true.

The tabloid’s column “Confidential” buttressed its report by claiming another sighting of the two together at Gemma, the upscale restaurant at the Bowery Hotel in New York City.

It affectionately dubbed the couple “DiddyUp” but we preferred “D and DD,” or “Triple-D.”

Unforch, Diddy’s tweet doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room for yes, no, or maybe so. What part of “do not know” doesn’t The Daily News understand?

If only they had checked in with the emcee or the model. But why ruin a good rumor?

But, alas, it really was one of those stories that was just too good to be true. After all, Diddy is old enough to be her father. Be sure to follow TheImproper on Twitter for all the tabloid rumors that could be true… or maybe not.
