Joining Selena and Vanessa were Ashley Benson and Rachel Corine and the rest of the cast of the movie which premiered in competition for a Golden Lion at the 69th annual festival.
Selena looked stunning in a rose pink strapless gown that flashed just the right amount of decollage to tease her growing sexuality.
Vanessa was the most daring. She wore a v-neck gown that plunged almost to her navel. Her dress was a a lilac-colored sheer fabric laced with mult-colored beads.
Ashley, who stars in “Pretty Little Liars,” wore a royal blue strapless gown with silver inlaid designs and sequins. Rachel stood out in a gold-colored gown that was the most conservatively cut of the bunch.
Selena was definitely the good girl gone bad on- and off-screen. “I did things I didn’t even know I could do on the movie and I do think it was because I trusted Harmony,” Gomez told reporters in Venice.
“I just didn’t think I was ready for [racy roles in the past], and I do think that Faith is right for me at this time in my career and in my life,” she said. “Of course eventually I’m going to kind of work my way up to that I think.”
The movie is a leap for Gomez, who starred for fives years as squeaky clean Alex Russo in Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place. The series ended in January, and Gomez, who turned 20 in July, is trying to transition to more adult roles.
The girls play college students who end up in jail after robbing a restaurant to finance their spring break vacation. A drug and arms dealer, played by James Franco, bails them out and enlists them to help in his war against a rival.
But on opening night, they were the epitome of Hollywood glamour.
