Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed that he cheated on wife Maria Shriver even while the two were dating before their marriage. The only thing is, sex partner Brigitte Nielsen blabbed first.
The Terminator star discusses the affair in the no-holds-barred book, “Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story.”
But last year, Nielsen, revealed the 1985 affair with him. It happened during the making of their movie, “Red Sonja.” At the time of her revelation, Arnold’s marriage to Maria Shriver was disintegrating.
Maria is reportedly furious that Arnold appeared on CBS’s show, “60 Minutes,” to discuss the book while she was snubbed by the program. She also did not receive an advance copy of the book.
TheImproper reported her saying it was an on-set fling, nothing more or less. “Since we both knew that wouldn’t last beyond the movie, we didn’t hold back,” Nielsen said.
“We wanted to try everything and so we did. There were no restrictions, no promises, nothing, and it was a great time in my life,” she added.
Schwarzenegger’s 25-year marriage to the Kennedy family member crashed and burned after the former California governor was forced to reveal he had a love child with the household maid Mildred Baena.
At the time, Arnold was dating and living with Kennedy clan member, Maria Schriver, whom he married a year later. Apparently marriage never tamed his sexual appetite. Nielsen was married to Sylvester Stallone, a good friend of Arnold’s.
“He never spoke about [Maria] — and the way he was living his life with me, I felt I was the only one, the actress said.
“Then I realized about him and Maria and, wow, I felt cheated. Maybe I wouldn’t have got into it if he said ‘I’m going to marry Maria and this is dead serious,’ but he didn’t, and our affair carried on,” she told London’s Daily Mail.
