Robert Pattinson is annoyed about some aspects of his “Twilight” experience, even though it has vaulted him to international fame and opened a lot of doors in Hollywood. For example, he could do without “RPatz.” What else?

The 26-year-old actor opened up to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper in is first interview in Australia, where he arrived yesterday to begin promoting the final film in the “Twilight” saga, “Breaking Dawn, Part 2.”

“When you first sign on to something when you were nobody, you feel like everything’s totally out of control,” he said told the newspaper. “Once you’ve experienced it once, you realize how to have a little bit more control over it.”

But apparently not as much as he’d like. Most of the things that annoy him are related to the publicity and popularity of the film series. Like why is he called “RPatz.”

“I would like to break the hands and mouth of the person who came up with it,” he said laughing.

Indeed, the “Twilight” phenomenon has produced its own short code for the film, like “KStew” for Kristen Stewart. It’s also introduced the concept of “teams” for fans who favor one actor or another, such as “Team Edward” and “Team Jacob.”

“That’s the one thing I’ve been annoyed about by the whole thing,” he said. “The kind of ‘team’ aspect of it. It’s strange. I think that’s what has created a very strange atmosphere around how the movies are promoted and stuff.

“It’s making it like a sport or something. People can’t really watch the films any more because they’re thinking about all this other silliness.”

Rob is also bothered because he is so identified with his “Twilight” character Edward Cullen.

“I think just because Twilight became so prominent and kind of mainstream, people think I’m similar to the character, but Edward’s such a specific part,” he says.

“I always find it so funny when you do any other part. They’re like ‘this is him kind of acting now.’ What did you think I was doing in Twilight?”
