Claire Danes’ hit show “Homeland” is filming its second season that hopefully will resolve how her character deals with her bi-polar disorder. Fortunately, she had time for a hot new photo shoot in the Russian edition of Harper’s Bazaar.

Homeland, which airs on the Showtime network, was one of last year’s sleeper hits. It not only posted strong ratings for a cable show, but was a darling of the critics as well.

It won the 2011 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series Drama.

That has to be thanks in large part, to Danes, the show’s heroine. Danes was spotted filming in Israel this week. She plays Carrie Mathison, a Central Intelligence Agency officer, who is hot on the trail of Al-Qaeda.

Co-star Damian Lewis plays Nicholas Brody, a U.S. Marine who was held captive by the terrorist group, and may have been turned into one of their agents.

Executive producer Alex Gansa, who also worked “The X Files” and Keifer Sutherland’s hit secret agent show “24,” told E! News not to be too surprised if the new season leaps ahead time-wise.

“We have the ability now to jump time between seasons- so don’t be surprised if we don’t pick up the very next day,” he revealed.

“By jumping some time, we’re going to be able to put our characters in different places than they have been this season. There will be a reset, probably after a jump in time, and both [Carrie and Brody] will be in very different places than they are now,” he added.

“What makes Homeland rise above other post-9/11 dramas is Danes’s stellar performance as Carrie—easily this season’s strongest female character,” wrote Hank Stuever in The Washington Post.
