UK Boy band “One Direction,” got a rousing reception in New York City yesterday, playing two shows at the historic Beacon Theatre in Manhattan as part of their North American tour

The band members, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson (ages 18-20), are supporting their debut album Up All Night.

The boys took time out from their show to answer Twitter questions. The lads were asked what their best accent is? Their best joke “besides the fungi one?” Niall was asked to tell what he usually ordered from Nando’s, and they were asked to show their beatboxing skills.

Their album is the first by a UK band to debut at No. 1 on the U.S. pop music charts. It also went straight to No. 1 on the digital download charts with its official release on March 13.

Their lead single, “What Makes You Beautiful,” sold more than 131,000 copies in its first week in the United States. debuting at No. 28 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The only other debut single to do better was recorded by The Spice Girls in 1998.

The band debuted on the “Ellen DeGeneres” show and followed up as the musical guests on “Saturday Night Live” in April. Since then, they’ve been taking the nation by storm and giving teen sensation Justin Bieber a run for his money.

The singers launched their first headline tour May 22 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn, before swinging south to Virginia and backtacking to New York.
