John Travolta Flew Friendly Skies With Gay Lover in '80s 1John Travolta has been outed for another gay affair, this one consensual in the 1980s with a pilot friend identified as Doug Gotterba, according to a new report.

In another startling revelation, Brook Shields apparently played the role of Travolta’s beard to cover up his gay flings.

The actor has long denied having gay relationships although his bi-sexuality is reportedly one of the best known secrets in Hollywood.

Questions about his sexual behavior exploded after two professional masseurs claimed he made unwanted sexual advances, including grabbing their genitals, exposing his and masturbating.

His lawyer, Marty Singer, has sharply denied the allegations and the two masseurs are now represented by Hollywood lawyer Gloria Allred.

Gotterba, now 60, apparently did not reveal his relationship with Travolta, but his ex-boyfriend and Travolta’s former secretary both said it went on for six years in the 1980s, according to the National Enquirer. Gotteba confirmed he worked for the actor during that time, the paper said.

“Of course I knew he [Travolta] was gay. It never bothered me,” Joan Edwards, the star’s secretary from 1978 to 1994, told the tabloid. She says she is still good friends with Gotterba, who owns a private jet company in California.

“Doug told me right at the beginning of our relationship that he’d had a homosexual relationship with John Travolta in the 1980s,” said Robert Britz, who dated the pilot after his affair with the star ended.

“Doug said that he hated sleeping with John because his body was very hairy and he didn’t like they way John smelled,” Britz claims. “John would also become very heavy between movies. Doug called him ‘huge’ and said it turned him off.”

The relationship apparently ended before his marriage to current wife Kelly Preston in 1991.
