Justin Bieber Tweaks New York Mayor on Today Show (watch!) 1Justin Bieber drew one of the biggest crowds yet for the “Today Show’s” summer concert series, filling Rockefeller Plaza in New York with thousands of fans. He sang one old song that appeared to tweak Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Fans with signs were strongly represented because Bieber promised two free tickets to one of his concerts for the best sign.

But in a sign possibly aimed at New York’s mayor, Bieber sang his now classic “Baby” off his first album. The mayor got into the middle of a controversy over the song at PS 90 elementary school.

“Baby” was scheduled to be played as part of the ceremonies for a graduating class of kindergartners. But after Bloomberg and New York Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott got into the act, school principal Greta Hawkins banned the song, calling it inappropriate for six-year-olds.

Be that as it may, “Baby” was on Bieber’s song list. It was released two years ago as the lead single from Bieber’s debut album, My World 2.0.

Justin also sang two of his new songs, including “Boyfriend” and “All Around the World.” Big Sean made a special appearance to sing with Justin on
another new song, “As Long As You Love Me.”

Justin also performed an encore of “Die In Your Arms.”

Bieber made a surprise appearance Thursday (June 14) to meet and greet fans. Many had been camping out for three days.
