Batman, Dark Knight Rises New Cable TV Video Preview (Watch!) 1Christian Bale’s Batman is featured in a new Dark Knight Rise video that flashes back to his youth and provides more detail about his rise and fall and rise again. Hans Zimmer’s epic score is featured in the video as well.

The clip is a sneak preview appearing on Comcast’s XFinity pay-per-view channel. Entitled “The Dark Knight Rises: Journey Preview,” it shows Bruce Wayne as a child.

The film, also starring Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Gary Oldman, is expected to be the biggest blockbuster film of the summer. It hits theaters on July 20. The soundtrack drops on July 16.

The video opens with a voice over by Caine, who plays Wayne’s steadfast manservant. “I never wanted you to come back to Gotham,” he intones. “I always knew there was nothing here for you, but pain and tragedy.”

From cityscape shots of Gotham, the video cuts to a well with a young Bruce Wayne at the bottom. He’s apparently fallen and been scared by the bats he stirs up. His wealthy dad can be heard asking: “Why did we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.”

Lesson learned!

“I was meant to inspire good; not madness, death,” a grown Bruce can be heard saying.

There are also some familiar shots from previous trailers. Hardy appears as Batman nemesis Bane, and there are also shots of Oldman and Gordon-Levitt.
