Taylor Swift Wears Out Welcome at Kennedy Wedding 1Taylor Swift, who is romancing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s son, Conor Kennedy, got her first hard lesson in Kennedy clan protocol. She was twice told not to show up at a Kennedy wedding, but did so anyway. Now, they’re furious at her.

Victoria Gifford Kennedy, widow of the late Michael Kennedy, went out of her way to publicly rebuke Swift, by talking about the blow up with The Boston Herald newspaper.

Victoria Kennedy said country singing queen was twice asked to leave the ceremony at a Boston hotel, but refused. In fact, she was not even invited. Boyfriend Conor texted Victoria an hour before the wedding and asked to attend. He was told politely but firmly “no.” according to the paper.

“They came anyway,” said the mother of the bride. “I personally went up to Ms Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave.

“It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me,” she said.

The lobby of the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles where they wedding was held, was filled with Swift’s fans.

A rep for Swift disputed the story. The rep said Swift was invited and bride Kyle Kennedy, the daughter of Victoria Kennedy, graciously welcomed her. Conor is Kyle’s first cousin. Their grandfather is the late Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968 while running for president.

Victoria Kennedy said she didn’t want Swift there because the commotion surrounding her would detract from the wedding. And, nobody outshines a Kennedy.

Celebrity girlfriends have never gone over well with the Kennedy women, going back to the days of patriarch Joe Kennedy’s affair with Gloria Swanson. Sons John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy had affairs with numerous starlets, inluding Marilyn Monroe.

The late Jackie Kennedy Onassis worked mightily to break up son John F. Kennedy Jr.’s relationship with actress Daryl Hannah.

An exception would be Bobby Kennedy Jr.. He’s said to be planning to wed actress Cheryl Hines in the wake of estranged wife Mary Richardson Kennedy’s suicide in May.
