England’s Prince Harry is making headlines after nude photos of him partying in Las Vegas surfaced earlier this week. But when the dust settles, everyone will realize this really isn’t the huge scandal the tabloids are making it out to be.
First, Harry is single and isn’t dating anyone at the moment, and the photos — while silly — merely portray the 27-year-old royal hottie as a naive party animal blowing off steam during a lost Vegas weekend.
The incident is tame compared to the longtime cheating scandal Harry’s father, Prince Charles, was involved in during his rocky 15-year marriage to the late Princess Diana.
Second, the strapping 6-foot-2 prince isn’t doing drugs or having sex in the fairly chaste photos — a shocker since we’re all jaded from having seen the tawdry sex tapes of socialites like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, and have been exposed to explicit, gynecological photos of celebs like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan when they paraded around L.A. sans underwear.
As it is, even the repressed Brits are shrugging off the incident. “Of course it’s stupid, but it doesn’t make people dislike him — quite the opposite,” said Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine.
“It shows that he is a guy who gets into trouble and he’s the one people love to love. It could only happen to Harry — but we love him for it.”
