Keira Knightley is like a razor’s edge; sharp, steely, dangerous in the wrong hands. But when used properly, she cuts cleanly, smoothly and close to the bone. Sublime, sexy, or raw, she delivers any way you want.

Her latest Interview magazine photos are a case in point.

Knightley is a femme fatale for photographers Mert & Marcus. She sleek and angular in Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Diane von Furstenberg and Yves Saint Laurent. With cigarette in hand, Keira blows hot and cool with an unyielding intensity.

The 27-year-old actress has proven to be one of Hollywood’s most versatile and alluring, whether it’s a bawdy adventure like “Pirates of the Caribbean” or a dark trip into the recesses of her character’s mind in David Cronenberg’s “A Dangerous Method.”

“Keira is a perfect paradox,” says Jude Law, who is quoted in the article. He wrapped shooting a new adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s “Anna Karenina,” with Knightley in December. “On the one hand, she is a youthful, energized beauty, and on the other, an incredibly experienced, controlled professional.”

Interview, which publishes Q&As with celebrities by celebrities, called on Cronenberg to speak with Knightley.

Among some of the highlights Knightly discovered from shooting “A Dangerous Method,” that England seemed obsessed by the scene where her character reveals she loves to be spanked.

“When we were in Venice, I didn’t get asked about it once in however many days we were there. And then in Toronto I got asked about it a little bit more. But in England, it was pretty much the only thing I got asked about.

“I’m not quite sure what that says about the English,” she said.
