Miley Cyrus rocked the world with her MTV Video Music Awards performance.

Miley Cyrus is starring in a new MTV documentary “Miley: The Movement,” and it couldn’t have come a moment too soon. It shows she’s not the white-boned demon the media has made her out to be and she’s totally in control of who she is.

Following her supercharged performance on the MTV Video Music Awards, Miley would seemed to be facing nothing but hellfire and damnation, according to her detractors.

But all the hand-wringing, pearl-clutching shock she induced wasn’t because she’s “wasted,” “out of control,” or “heading for a breakdown.”

“I was born to become who I am right now,” says the 20-year-old singer forthrightly. “I’m at a point in my career where I can be exactly what I want to be, who I want to be.”

The documentary is revealing because it opens with her backstage at the VMAs as she’s about to perform her solo of “We Can’t Stop and duet of “Blurred Lines” with Robin Thicke.

Miley isn’t chanting incantations, cavorting with the devil or spinning madly like a dervish. She’s calmly walking on stage, the consummate professional.

As Thicke’s wife Paula Patton revealed on the “Today” show yesterday, they rehearsed the routine for three days and everybody knew exactly what they were getting.

“I have this freedom to do whatever I want, because I’m starting as a new artist now,” Miley explains. “Every time I do anything, I want to remember: This is what separates me from everybody else.”

It also proves definitively that Miley wasn’t spawned by the devil, hatched by an Incubus or sent by some alien beings. She has a mom and a dad who help keep her grounded, good ole Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus.

So does this mean the pious, devout and chaste should have no fear that she’s triggering the collapse of Western Civilization? Probably safe to say, yes, at this point. Sorry haters.
