Kayne West explained his many facets on Jimmy Kimmel last night.

Kanye West had a lot to say on Jimmy Kimmel last night, but the take away is this. He is a GENIUS! “For me to say I wasn’t a genius, I would just be lying to you and to myself,” he pronounced with an epic straight face. No lie!

West appeared on the show to iron out his epic Twitter feud with the late-night host.

It began when Kimmel ran a segment in which a child played West to re-enact an interview the rapper had on BBC Radio One. West gave one of his stream of consciousness rants on the show, wondering why so many people didn’t take him seriously.

Kimmel didn’t help matters when the upshot of his segment was to make Kanye seem childish. The 36-year-old singer flew off the handle, slammed Kimmel on Twitter and the feud was on.

“JIMMY KIMMEL IS OUT OF LINE TO TRY AND SPOOF IN ANY WAY THE FIRST PIECE OF HONEST MEDIA IN YEARS,” the rapper tweeted, falling back into his old habit of writing in all capitals.

Both sides said it wasn’t a publicity stunt.

West agreed to appear on the show to air things out, and Kimmel fell all over himself with encomiums and tried to minimize the segment by claiming he’d had kids play other celebrities like Lady Gaga. “I just do it because I like to see children curse,” he said nervously.

In fact, Kimmel looked like he was shaking in his boots the whole time. West has a bad habit going off on photographers; he’s facing criminal charges for one assault. Maybe the milquetoast host thought West might haul off and slug him.

“People feel like it’s OK to treat celebrities like zoo animals, and/or act like what they are saying isn’t that serious and their life isn’t that serious,” West instructed.

But Kimmel isn’t the only show to poke fun of Kanye and his baby mamma Kim Kardashian. South Park did a send up of West and his so-called “fashion sense.” Kanye dressed down the show (no pun intended, well maybe) in return.

“When I’m in Paris, and I’m sitting in Fashion Week for nine years, and ‘South Park’ makes fun of our outfits, and people don’t understand why we’re there and I’m getting called names, stuff you can’t even say on like TV, and I still can’t break that wall down . . . who do you know that’s known more for clothes than me?” he said plaintively.

West also took on the Hollywood establishment for refusing to give “his girl” Kim a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, because she’s a reality television star, not an actor.

“They said something about they not going to put my girl on the Walk of Fame because she’s a reality star,” he said.

“It’s like people are so, so dated, and not modern. There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame.”

In the end, Kanye said, it isn’t about racism, it’s about snobbery. “This classism is what they do to try say ‘Well, you’re a rapper,’ or ‘Your girl is on a reality show. So you’re not up here with us, we’re old money,'” he said.
