Lars von Trier’s film Nymphomaniac will contain explicit sex.

Lars von Trier’s official trailer for his upcoming movie “Nymphomaniac,” is a kaleidoscope of scenes from the movie, some sexually explicit. The new trailer is a mix of sadomasochism and sexual violence that should have censors in a bunch.

Although von Trier proclaims it the first “official” trailer, at least two other glimpses of the movie have been released.

Stacy Martin, Shia LaBeouf First Look Nymphomanic Trailer (watch!)

Both of those are now being called “sneak peeks,” and at slightly less than a minute in length are about half as long as the newly released trailer.

The erotic drama, which von Trier writes and directs, traces the life of a woman named Joe. It covers her early teen years until she is 50-years-old.

Joe, played by Stacy Martin in her youth and Charlotte Gainsbourg when she gets older, is found beaten in an alley by a man named Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), who takes her in.

She recounts her sexual exploits. The movie is broken up into chapters, but the trailer seems to pull material from throughout the movie.

The trailer contains explicit sex scenes and there were early reports that the actors would perform the sex acts themselves. But Martin revealed that porn stars were hired for the explicit shots, of which there are many.

Shia LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Willem Dafoe, Jamie Bell, Christian Slater and Connie Nielsen also star in the film. It will be released on Christmas day in Denmark, but no U.S. release date has been set.

It will have a hard time getting anything less than an NC-17 rating from film board censors, which should severely restrict its distribution in U.S. theaters. The film is being shot in two parts and will include an edited version and explicit director’s cut.
