Kristen Stewart stunned fans and critics alike today (Dec. 11) after she was unveiled as the new face for Chanel’s 2013-2014 Métiers d’Arts ad campaign, proving she’s still one of the most desirable actresses in Hollywood.

Stewart appeared in Dallas, Tx, with Karl Lagerfeld, who personally chose her to rep the line and will shoot the ad campaign himself.

Stewart has been lying so low many wondered where her career was heading. Meanwhile, cheesy tabloid speculated ruthlessly about her so-called desperate need to get back with Robert Pattinson, with whom she had a near four-year relationship.

Earlier this week, HollywoodLife ran a photo of Stewart boarding a private plane and breathlessly reported she was flying to London to meet up with Rob for the Holidays.

The story, of course, was fake as TheImproper noted; The plane was too small to fly that far.

Instead she was clearly heading for Dallas to attend the Métiers d’Art “Paris-Dallas” fashion show at Dallas Fair Park.

The tip off to her growing relationship with Chanel came in July when she was spotted in the front row of the brand’s Haute Couture fashion show.

She’s been under Lagerfeld’s watchful eye ever since.

At the event, she wore high-waist leather palazzo pants, a knit crop top and waist-tied shirt. Her hair tumbled loosely over her shoulders and across her face. She did not wear a bra.

Although Stewart is better known for tee-shirts, torn jeans and trucker hats, she’s made significant inroads into high fashion over the past two years. In interviews, she’s said she definitely wants fashion to be part of her life and career.

She most recently repped for Balenciaga’s Florabotanica fragrance.

Ex-Balenciaga designer, Nicolas Ghesquière hired Stewart for the brand and stuck by her during her sex scandal with Director Rupert Sanders. He’s now creative director of French luxury label Louis Vuitton.

Stewart’s first Chanel campaign is expected to unfold in May 2014. Check out her photos from the event and follow TheImproper on Twitter for Kristen Stewart news you can trust.
