If so, it will make $18 million nuptials with Kris Humphries look like a shotgun wedding.
After her engagement to Kanye in December, and her wedding fiasco with Humphries, Kim said she wanted a low-key ceremony. But the lure of easy money may be too hard to pass up.
Kim and Kanye apparently have decided to film the blessed event and air it on Kim’s E! reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
The reports, which are based on anonymous sources, have been given some credence by confirmed reports that Kim and Kanye are scouting out exotic, high-end locations for the wedding in and around Paris.
Kim told Jimmy Kimmel last week that Paris was their location of choice.
But even some of those reports have been off-based. Rumors that they were scouting out the Palace of Versailles in France proved to be untrue.
“E! will pick up most of the cost of the wedding and it’s a lot easier for a network to deal with logistics of a foreign wedding than if it were just the two of them planning it,” a source told the not-always-the-most-reliable gossip site radaronline.
Like Kim’s last wedding, this time down the aisle is sure to include lots of product endorsements and sponsorships, plus advertising revenue from what are sure to be one or two wedding specials on the show.
Plus, by airing it on the show, most of the costs of the wedding will be tax deductible, meaning taxpayers will be footing a portion of the cost.
After whirlwind 90-day engagement, Kim’s wedding to Humphries in 2011 was turned into a two-part, four-hour reality TV special on E!, generating an estimated $18 million payday. The marriage lasted all of 72 days.
They chose an estate in Montecito, Calif., to host the event, but given Kim and Kanye’s affinity for France, a wedding there seems likely at this point.
