Bethenny Frankel, who parlayed a stint on “The Real Housewives of New York,” into her own personal brand, has lost the flagship of her media empire.

Her daytime talk show was cancelled today (Feb. 14) and will end its run at the end of the current season.

It would be unfair to call Frankel a flop. Her show scored modest successes with 25-to-54 viewers desired by advertisers.

But it wasn’t enough to save the show.

Top management changes at Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution and shifting priorities to a new show, called “The Real,” doomed her program, according to sources.

“While we are disappointed not to be able to bring the series back for a second season, we remain convinced that Bethenny has a unique voice and that she will continue to be successful in the future,” Warner production company, Telepictures Production, said in a statement.

The heavily competitive daytime talk show segment has been the ruin of more than one high-flying celebrity, from Katie Couric to Kris Jenner. Both saw their shows canceled as well.

Bethenny was backed by Ellen DeGeneres, who gave the New York housewife a solid push when she started the series. Frankel, however, was also polarizing.

From her too-thin looks, her messy divorce and her sometimes abrasive personality, a by-product her Real Housewives days, Frankel was off-putting to many.

Her brusque New York style didn’t play well in Middle America, although she connected with younger, edgier viewers, according to the show.
