Irish Paper Goes Topless Over Kate Middleton Topless Photos

Kate Middleton’s sensational topless photos has cost top editor Michael O’Kane his job at the Irish Daily Star. It was the only publication in the British Isles to print the photos, which were widely circulated in Europe. The photos, taken while Kate and Prince William were sunning at their uncle’s estate in France, were eventually printed in Italy, France, Germany and Belgium. The images showing Kate topless were initially published in French magazine Closer. The Daily Star was next to print most of the images and O’Kane was suspended as editor in September....

Kate Middleton Topless Photos Hit Swedish Magazine, More to Follow

Kate Middleton’s topless photos are traveling almost as much as Prince William and his blushing wife on their Diamond Jubliee Tour. A Swedish magazine is the latest to publish 11 of photos, and a sister publication in Denmark has plans to print even more. In all, the photos have appeared in French, Italian and Irish publications. Some American magazines are reportedly in talks to publish the photos as well. The latest publication comes in defiance of a court order the Royal Palace won in France barring further publication of the photos in that country. Closer, the French magazine that first revealed the images and the photographer who took them, has been ordered to turn over the photos to the royal couple....

Kate Middleton Topless Photos Banned in France by Court

Kate Middleton has been spared further embarrassment from topless photos in France. A court ruled today (Sept. 18) that Closer magazine is prohibited from publishing or distributing the photos. The magazine and photographer also face a criminal investigation. The ruling requires the magazine to turn over all copies of the photos to the royal couple no later than 24 hours from the time of the ruling. Failure to do so could result in a 10,000 euro fine. While the fine is considered a slap on the wrist, the magazine could be held in contempt of court if it refuses to comply with the order. That could lead to more serious penalties....

Photos of Kate Middleton topless have been published once again in Italian magazine Chi, which released a sampling of Kate nude on its Web site, but reserved 50 more for the latest edition of its magazine. The photos are of the same quality--grainy and blurred--as those published by French magazine Closer last week. Chi editor-in-chief Alfonso Signorini, 48, played down the intrusiveness of the photos. “These pictures are not offensive or in poor taste, they are not morbid and they do not damage the dignity of anyone,” he said....

The photo showed Diana lying in the wrecked Mercedes sedan being administered oxygen in the moments after the crash. The decision to publish the photo caused worldwide outrage. The latest development comes as one photographer who was at the Chateau D’Aulet, where the royal couple were snapped told UK tabloids that there was no security present while she was there. The woman said the pool area where the royal couple lounged was in clear view of the road and passersby and questioned whether William and Kate should have been more circumspect. First the French now the Italians. Kate Middleton and Prince William may not have seen the last of her topless photos and perhaps even more lurid images from their recent vacation. Italian magazine Chi says it will publish them as well. Chi will reportedly run a 26-page photo special of the Duke and Duchess on their holiday in the south of France next week, according to the BBC. “The fact that these are the future rulers of England makes the article more interesting and topical,” said Chi Editor Alfonso Signorini. “This is a deserving topic because it shows in a completely natural way the daily life of a very famous, young and modern couple in love.”...
