Lindsay Lohan is the only reason to suffer through “The Canyons,” a tedious, meandering film that’s as pretentious as it is pointless. Lindsay, on the other hand, is mesmerizing, if not always in a good way. She’s like Frankenstein as Mary Shelly originally conceived the character… breathtakingly beautiful, yet still a monster in the end. To their credit, Paul Schrader, writer Bret Easton Ellis, and producer by Braxton Pope cast Lindsay in the lead role when no one else would have her.
