“Downton Abbey” star Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary Crawley on the hit PBS Show,” has suffered a tragedy that parallels the life of her star-crossed character. Downton Abbey Photobomb! Anyone Seen My Water Bottle? (photos!)

“Downton Abbey” is intricately staged to capture every detail of life among the upper crust in post-Edwardian England, so it’s pretty safe to assume Lord Robert Crawley and Lady Edith Crawley wouldn’t be swigging from a plastic water bottle. How the photo got by editors and producers and made its way online is anyone’s guess....

After four seasons, the Crawley family is facing a backlash over their utter disdain for all things American, Lady Cora notwithstanding, of course. Granted the show was written and produced in Britain, but creator and head writer Julian Fellowes seems to take a particular delight in portraying America as a land of uncouth loudmouths and overweening four-flushers....

Downton Abbey Finale: Lady Mary Finally Finds Her Match (watch!)

Lady Mary and Matthew finally tied up a loose end that has been driving the plot of "Downton Abbey" for two seasons. What better way to end season two, after so much grief, than to see the young heir on bended knee proposing in a wonderous snow? Of course there was the little problem of Sir Richard (Iain Glen). He tried to leverage his way into the Crawley family and Lady Mary's (Michelle Dockery) heart by holding her scandal with the Turkish fellow over her head....

Downtown Abbey seemed to come apart at the seams, just when the aristocratic family thought it could return to normal with the end of World War I. But the war has wrought more changes than even they realized. Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) was one of the more fortunate. His paralyzing war wound turned out to be a bruised rather than severed spinal cord and he regained his ability to walk, thanks to his betrothed Lavinia Swire (Zoe Boyle)....
