Politics really is the last refuge of scoundrels. In the height of hypocrisy, President Trump lambasted NBC and “Today” show host Matt Lauer, despite facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct himself. During the 2016 presidential campaign, more than a dozen women accused Trump of sexual harassment or sexual assault....

Hulk Hogan Gets a Big Payday From Gawker and We’re All Poorer For It

Is Hogan A Hero? In the late ’70s, Hulk Hogan was fearless every Saturday on the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Who knew he was really a shy, sensitive guy? No wonder he sued when Gawker.com posted his sex tape online. Even more remarkable, who knew a jury would give him $140 million? Fast forward about 30 or so years and the once mythical God of Thunder can now be seen blubbering with regularity on national television. His skin must be paper thin. ...

Selena Gomez posted a somewhat cryptic message on Instagram that seems to have a pretty clear meaning; she’s the latest celeb to express her frustration at unending tabloid headlines that are largely made up about her and her relationships. There’s no question that Selena is news, but she didn’t bargain for abusive tabloid headlines based on the flimsiest information, or totally fabricated out of whole cloth. Most involve Justin Bieber. ...

Suits Don’t Get It: Who Wants Monica Lewinsky or Trevor Noah on TV?

Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern who went down on Bill and played the pawn in a GOP impeachment attempt, has reportedly been offered a seat on “The View” by Barbara Walters, who should know better. What are TV suits thinking? It’s hard to see what Lewinsky can bring to the table other than her notoriety. It’s the second bone-headed idea in a week by television suits, who think they know what the public wants. Last week, Comedy Central announced that South African comedian Trevor Noah will replace Jon Stewart on The Daily Show....

Fashion Police Runs Afoul of Political Correctness; Is Show Doomed? (video)

“Fashion Police,” the E! show that’s supposed to present a no-holds-barred look at celebrity fashion, is being wrecked by political correctness and “celebrity friendships” in the wake of long-time host Joan Rivers’ death, raising questions whether it can survive in its current form. Apparently only Rivers has the constitution to call it like she saw them and deflect criticism. Her replacement, tart-tongued Kathy Griffin is the latest to cut and run after the blow up over -ex-co-host Giuliana Rancic’s red-carpet criticism of African-American singer-actress Zendaya....

Fox News Shows Burning Pilot Video: Is It Trying to Goad U.S. Into War?

Fox News has posted the video of radical Islamists burning to death Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh, sparking a heated backlash and questions about its motives. Is it trying to inflame the public into sending U.S. troops? The radical Islamist group IS released the video earlier this week to global condemnation and no other U.S. media outlet has chosen to show it. But Fox News posted the video in its entirety on its Web site and showed images from the video last night (Feb. 5) and showed images from the video on its television news show “Special Report.”...

Sports Illustrated Draws Heat Over Risque Hannah Davis Cover (see!)

Hannah Davis, an American Model, makes her second appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in an eye-popping cover photo that pushes the bounds of propriety. The magazine is drawing heat from critics for stepping, close to, if not over the line. The move is in line with the magazine’s trend in recent years to more and more nudity....

Vanity Fair Reveals Its Hollywood Cover: See Who Made the Cut!

Vanity Fair today (Feb. 4) revealed the cover of its annual Hollywood issue. It’s become as much of a rite of passage in Tinsletown as the Oscars themselves. Or so the magazine would like you to believe. So who made the cut? You might be surprised. The magazine definitely made sure the 10 actors who appear on the extended, three-flap cover are representative among women, men and minorities on the big screen. But men slightly outnumbered women, this year and the crowd definitely skewed a little older than the stars who appeared on 20 previous covers over the years....

Justin Bieber Hoses GossipCop, ABC News, TMZ on Private Plane Folly

Justin Bieber farted and a slew of web sites said it smell like roses. That’s an apt analogy for Bieber’s claim that he bought a high-priced Gulfstream G650 private jet for a Christmas present. But like Bieber’s farts, it stinks to high heaven. But that didn’t stop a slew of gossip sites from People magazine to ABC News, Fox News, GossipCop, TMZ and dozen of lesser sites from reporting it as fact. An TheImproper investigation, however, flushed that crap right out of the news cycle. This site reported two days ago that Bieber did not own a jet. We did what every other news site should have done–checked with Federal Aviation Administration....
