Sci Fi on TV has always had a rough go of it. I guess the most successful examples are “Star Trek” and ABC drama “Lost,” with “The X-Files” riding close behind. TV’s last big, sci fi epic, the time-traveling show “Timeless” was cancelled once, then renewed, than cancelled again....
“Star Trek: Discovery” goes where only one other “Star Trek” series has gone before with a woman in a lead role. A new trailer for the CBS series features Sonequa Martin-Green as battled hardened First Officer Michael Burnham. Ok… she has a man’s name but she’s still a woman. The cast is rounded out by Michelle Yeoh, who plays Captain Philippa Georgiou of the Starship Shenzhou; Jason Isaacs who plays Captain Lorca of Discovery and James Frain as Spock’s father....
