Superman: Enough Already With Brooding Superheroes (New Trailer)

Christopher Nolan’s new trailer for “Man of Steel” reveals another dark brooding superhero. Superman’s superpowers apparently equal super deep psychological scars and inner conflicts about who he is. Would anyone with real superpowers feel that way? Nolan, of course, is the master of the new genre of superhero movies. His “Batman” trilogy, most recently “The Dark Knight Rises” have been maga-hits, so why not extend the brand to other superheroes? Man of Steel is directed by Zack Snyder, but Nolan produces and David S. Goyer, who penned “The Dark Knight Rises,” also writes the script. Nolan pitched Goyer’s idea to Warner Bros., after story discussion on “The Dark Knight Rises.”...
