10. Executing Prisoners: Brad Pitt’s character Wardaddy forces a green tank crew member to execute a German prisoner. But historian Stephen Ambrose said he interviewed well over 1000 combat veterans and only one said he shot a prisoner. Executing prisoners especially in a non-combat situation like the movie, with officers and other enlisted men standing around, would have resulted in immediate arrest and court marshal. A number of U.S. soldiers were prosecuted for it during the war.
