paltrow-ironman3-gownGwyneth Paltrow’s gown by Antonio Berardi has taken on a life of its own since she wore it on the red carpet at the “Iron Man 3” Hollywood premiere. Gwyn tells Ellen DeGeneres on her show today (Apr. 26) that she need to “get a trim” before she could wear it. Say What!

Paltrow had just one the “Most Beautiful Woman” award from People and lived up to her billing when she appeared in the racy gown.

She showed she could still turn it on at 40.

The sheer panels from hip to hem revealed a lot of leg and no small part of her world-famous derriere. She was wearing no underwear. She avoided any wardrobe malfunctions but getting into the dress was another matter, she told the talk show host.

“Yeah, Oh, I kind of had a disaster,” Paltrow related.

“I was doing a show and I changed there and I went I couldn’t wear underwear. I don’t think I can tell this story on TV,” she added blushing.

“Well, let’s just say everyone went scrambling for a razor. So, I went from being the most beautiful to the most humiliated. In one day,” she laughed.

Ellen didn’t quite get where she was going at first, until Paltrow added: “I work a ’70s vibe. You know what I mean?”

“Oh… got it!” Ellen replied with a big thumbs up. That led to a lot of lady giggling.

The gown is from Berardi’s Fall 2013 collection. Her stylist picked the dress, “I think, because it’s sexy,” Paltrow said on the red carpet. “You’ve got all the sheer bits, but it’s sort of ‘superheroes’ on top,” she explained.

Berardi is an English designer of Italian descent, who is best known for his gowns. He’s a celebrity favorite with Jessica Alba, Lily Allen, Victoria Beckham, Kate Beckinsale, Beyoncé Knowles, Julianne Moore and Megan Fox.

The actress also told Ellen of her surprise at winning the award. She called it “kind of rad.”

“My publicist of like 22 years, Stephen Huvane, sent me an email. And honestly I was like this is a joke. I reread it three times. I was like oh, he sent this to the wrong client. Like there’s no way,” Gwyneth said. But, yeah, way.
