With the release of his new Dior Homme fragrance campaign this month, Rob is going through a bit of a transition in his career.
He’s much more secure about who he is. And, with the “Twilight” hoopla finally fading, he’s starting to come up for some air and expand his interests. The end of his relationship with Kristen Stewart also factors into the equation, but not like most of the fake gossip sites have been reporting.
“Yeah, it’s a whole bunch of stuff happening at the same time, and I am just not worrying about things so much,” he says in a new interview with the Arabian edition of Harper’s Bazaar. “I guess it just happens,” he adds.
The breakup has also helped him focus inwardly on himself, and discover new interests. “I also bought a house and I was literally doing that up and fixing pipes,” he says.
Rob also lets it be known he hasn’t given up on love; it just has to be with the right person. And who would that be?
“It’s that thing, someone knowing who they are, it’s the best,” he says about what attracts him to a woman. “I guess because it is like the opposite of what I am – I am so all over the place,” he adds.
“If someone looks good in their clothes it’s because they are comfortable in their own skin; it’s literally just like owning it,” he says before quickly correcting himself.
“Oh no! That is so lame. I feel like I am on Project Runway saying ‘own that’,” he says mimicking show host Tim Gunn.
The fashion connection, however, is more than just a passing analogy. After all, Rob’s first crush was on supermodel Kate Moss.
“I was obsessed with her, it was a bit ridiculous. The other poster I had up [in my room] was Linda Blair in the ‘Exorcist,’ so they were my two options – a little girl possessed and Kate Moss,”
“Twilight” cast mate Kellan Lutz revealed in August that Rob has a growing obsession with fashion. “Rob and I were talking about doing a clothing line together,” Kellan told shocked reporters at the WWE SummerSlam Party.
Tabloids assumed that Rob would be interested in doing a men’s line like Lutz’s brand Abbot + Main. But they were only half right.
“I kind of want to get more involved with the industry, I really like it,” he says. “I like the speed of it, you can just move so much quicker. I also like designing clothes.”
“It’s weird; it’s kind of a new thing that I have started doing,” he reveals. “It’s really embarrassing… I like drawing couture dresses,” he says, acting surprised by his own words.
“It’s bizarre! I started doing it and I was like ‘what is happening?’ Suddenly I had like a sketchbook full of dresses. I like the sort of artistry of it, it’s kid of like costume design,” Rob explains.
“That would be the most random thing ever but I actually really want to do it. I don’t know though, it could be incredibly embarrassing.”
