Adams was a standout in the David O. Russell-directed comedy-drama “American Hustle,” and earned a best supporting actress nomination at the Oscars.
Amy posed for renowned fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti, featuring some of Max Mara’s growing accessories line, which includes sunglasses, handbags and other items.
While other brands have stuck with big name supermodels, Max Mara has used A-List celebrities to hawk their wares. Adams, 39, replaces Jennifer Garner, who also has a lengthy film resume.
“Jennifer Garner was the first celebrity we worked with [on the accessories campaigns] and the feedback we received was excellent both in terms of sell-in and sell-out, and in terms of credibility,” company spokesman Giorgio Guidotti, told fashion trade WWD.
This is Adams’ biggest campaign to date. She’s also modeled for Band of Outsiders and French fashion brand Lacoste.
Fashion is considered an important brand extension for celebrities. They not only pull down big paychecks, but also burnish their reputations as style icons. Fashion work also keeps them in the public eye.
Other Hollywood actresses such as Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and Kristen Stewart have all landed major campaigns for fashion brands.
