Emporio Armani unveiled Megan Fox as its latest underwear model, continuing a trend toward younger Hollywood stars in its image advertising in an apparent effort to freshen the brand.
Earlier reports said that Armani is also trying to recruit “Twilight” and “New Moon” star Taylor Lautner for on of its campaigns.
“Megan is young and sexy and has a lot of spirit,” said the brand’s head, Giorgio Armani. The brand, he added, is “all about a youthful attitude, making her the perfect choice for the collections.”
The new series of ads for Spring/Summer 2010 were shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Los Angeles. They will start appearing in February on billboards in fashion centers such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo.
Fox, who is 23, replaces Victoria Beckham, 34, who starred with husband soccer star David Beckham, and by herself in a series of provocative ads.
Armani returned to the sports for its latest icon, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, who succeeds David Beckham in the male images. But, unlike the Beckhams, Fox and Ronaldo will not appear together.
The starlet and the Beckhams were photographed in black and white, which for some reason turns up the heat, not to mention implied ’50s film noir decadence.
Fox showcases Armani Jeans with a stripped-down look, Her hair is wet, her feet are bare and she’s wearing only a hint of make up in the come hither over-the-shoulder pose in a white oxford shirt and white skinny denim jeans.
She strips down for Armani’s sexy lingerie campaign and shows off her ample curves in a striped demi-bra and matching panties or lace ensembles.
Fox’s fans and Armani customers can browse through more images exclusively on the Emporio Armani Facebook page, starting Wednesday (Jan. 13).
