Calvin Klein is making a major bid to tap social media to market its clothes and Jenner, thanks in part to her Kardashian connection, has a huge social following and extended social reach through various channels.
The same strategy was behind the brand’s choice of Justin Bieber for its spring 2015 campaign. He was paired with veteran model Lara Stone in a series of adds that boosted Calvin Klein’s visibility on social media by three million followers, according to reports.
Its building its campaigns around the hash tag #mycalvins.
The Calvin Klein Jeans Denim Series is a limited-edition line of athletic style clothes with a prominent CK logo and an urban street vibe.
Kendall, 19, poses for photographer Alasdair McLellan and her wet-head waif look is styled by Melanie Ward.
The up-and-coming model did her part by sharing selfies on her Instagram account wearing the brand. After all, she has 21.8 million followers.
The new line goes on sale Apr. 15 on online fashion retailer Opening Ceremony and May 15 on the brand’s Web site, calvinklein.com.
