Cobie Smulders may not be a household name in the United States, unless you are a diehard fan of the hit TV show “How I Met Your Mother.” But the Canadian model and actress is beyond hot and long overdue for A-List recognition

Smulders, 28, joined the the cast of CBS’ hit sitcom in 2005, and earlier this year the show logged its 100th episode.

Cobie plays Robin Scherbatsky, a TV reporter who used to be a former teenage pop star in Canada. She hooks up with the Josh Radnor’s character Ted.

She graces the upcoming issue of Maxim magazine, and shows off her model good looks.

As a model, Cobie has worked in Japan, Germany, Africa, Greece, New York, Caribbean, Milan and Italy, but her passion for acting overshadowed her successful modeling career, so Cobie Smulders tried her luck as an actress.

She recently won a recurring role on “The L Word,” portraying a photographer named Leigh Ostin who became the love interest of Jennifer Beals.

Smulders and boyfriend Taran Killam her their first child, a daughter Shaelyn Cado Killam, on May 16, 2009.
