Mia Wasikowska, who best is known for her eccentric role in “Alice in Wonderland,” stretches the imagination once again in a new photo shoot for fashion brand Miu Miu. The shoot coincides with her new movie “Albert Nobbs.”
Miu Miu bills itself as an “avant-garde, modern, sensual, provocative yet sophisticated brand.” Miuccia Prada created the brand in 1993. Its women’s collections include ready-to-wear and couture.
The 22-year-old Aussie actress, who posed for photographer David Sims, heralds Miu Miu‘s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The designs reflect a party motif and are inspired by fashions from the 19th century and the 1950s.

Sims’ shoot is a take-off on classic portraiture. The young actress is photographed in the studio against a yellow background that accents the the multi-colored prints. Mia’s tousled hair adds hints of eccentricity as does her over-sized jewelry.
Mia’s breakout role in Hollywood came in the 2010 Tim Burton film “Alice in Wonderland.” She played Alice opposite Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter’s Red Queen. The film grossed just over $1 billion at the box office.
She went on from there to appear in another 2010 film, “The Kids are All Right.” The film won a Golden Globe Award for Best Musical or Comedy. Star Annette Bening won the Golden Globe for Best Actress. It’s about a lesbian couple who raise two children.
More recently, Mia attended a screening of “Albert Nobbs” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City with co-star, Glenn Close.
Her upcoming film, “The Wettest County,” is directed by John Hillcoat. It stars Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain. The picture is about bootlegging in the 1920s on the eve of Prohbition.
