BarrosCoverBrazilian model Ana Beatriz Barros is the new face and body for Marks & Spencer’s underwear line. She’s replacing the well-known UK brand’s regulars, Noemie Lenoir, Erin O’Connor and Laura Bailey.

Barros, 27, was featured in Sports Illustrated’s famous swimsuit issue from 2002 through 2008, and has also modeled for Victoria’s Secret.

“Ana is perfect. She’s sexy and exotic but approachable. We expect her to appeal to men and women alike,” said an M&S insider.

Barros, who is 5’11” tall, was spotted with her older sister, Patricia, vacationing in Rio de Janeiro by a representative from Elite Model Management. She was 14 at the time, and began modeling soon after.

She was first featured in a Millennium GUESS? campaign along with her friend and fellow Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio.

She has done ads for Christian Dior, Armani Jeans, Oakley, L’Oréal, Diesel, Victoria’s Secret, Chanel, and walked the runways for all of the top fashion houses.

Singer Jennifer Lopez also tapped Barros in 2004 to be the face of her lingerie line, calling her “young, sexy and urban, with a universal appeal.”

M&S is shifting its focus to key seasonal trends and must-have pieces and has enlisted new models for its springtime ad campaign, according to reports out of the UK.

Fashion icon Twiggy, 60, and Myleene Klass will still be part of the line up. The store launches its new line, Wed, Mar. 24.
