Lara Stone, the world’s No. 1 model for three years running, shows why she’s so alluring, with a new dark look in the Turkish edition of Vogue magazine. She wore her hair short and dark.

The Dutch model is best known and most often photographed as a blonde. But Turkish photographer Cuneyt Akeroglu captures her in with a totally different look.

Stone shot two covers for the magazine, one in color and the other a facial closeup in black and white. She’s known for her gap-toothed look. In the color cover, Lara has dark eyes and blood red lips and wears a black bra with leather high-waist pants.

The 28-year-old beauty was named No. 1 on international modelling site models.com’s list of Top 50 Models in 2010 and she still held the position as of March this year. She also ranks 10th on the site’s “sexiest models” list.

Her breakthrough came in 2007 when did an expansive spread in March’s Vogue Paris, channeling ’50s era sex kitten Bridgett Bardot, and followed up with the cover for the April issue.

Stone made fashion history when she signed an exclusive deal with Calvin Klein Inc., to rep Calvin Klein Collection, ck Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein Jeans for fall 2010. She’s the first model in years to be the face of all three brands.

She is known for her stunning, angular face and fantastic body. She’s appeared nude in the 2010 Pirelli Calendar for Karl Lagerfeld and again in the 2012 Pirelli Calendar photographed by Mario Sorrenti.

Stone also appeared one of three Vogue UK covers, the first triple cover in 95-years, in celebration of the Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
