Blake Lively’s stock continues to rise as a fashion icon. She’s been hired to front for Gucci’s upcoming campaign for new fragrance Première, according to Gucci creative director Frida Giannini.

Lively, 24, is best known for her role as Serena van der Woodsen in the CW teen drama “Gossip Girl,” one of the most talked about but least watched shows on television.

Lively, who exudes a classic beauty, caught Giannini’s attention. “Blake’s unique style and charisma brings that allure to life in a very contemporary way,” she said in a statement.

The perfume, she added, was “inspired by timeless Hollywood glamour and the iconic leading ladies of Hollywood’s golden era.”

Lively was equally effusive about the deal. “It is a pleasure to collaborate with Frida Giannini. I feel honored to represent the fragrance,” she said.

The actress’s breakout role came last year when she starred as Ryan Reynold’s love interest in the movie “Green Lantern.” They also became an off-screen item.

Lively was accused in some tabloid reports of breaking up Reynolds’ marriage to Scarlett Johansson. But all parties have strenuously denied the claim.

The actress has already shot a commercial short film for Première with Nicolas Winding Refn, who directed the movie “Drive.” The film premiered in competition at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and he won the Best Director Award.

The fragrance will debut in the fall, and the commercial will be screened at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 1.
