Jennifer Lawrence, would be right at home in the Hunger Games’ Capitol in her wildly eccentric outfits in W magazine. She wears feathered creations from a Roaring ’20s flapper look to the decadent elegance of a guilded menagerie.

For the high concept fashion shoot, Lawrence wears an Alberta Ferretti chiffon and ostrich feather top, a Prabal Gurung ostrich feather and sequin-embroidered tulle gown and an Alexander McQueen ostrich feather dress, among other creations.

The 22-year-old actress looks right at home among exotic birds in front of photographer Tim Walker’s discerning eye.

Jennifer Lawrence Flights of Fancy for W

Lawrence vaulted on the A-List of Young Hollywood actresses with her Academy Award nominated role in the 2010 indie drama “Winter’s Bone.” From there, she jumped into a major epic as Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games,” which has become the new “Twilight.”

Her role in “X-Men: First Class” as Raven Darkholme, aka Mystique, is probably strangest. She had to stip down on set every day and get covered in blue paint, with only plastic snake scales covering her private parts.

“The first test where they painted me blue took around eight hours of makeup,” she tells the magazine.

“I would stand, lean, or sit on a bicycle seat naked while they painted me. I have no modesty left after X-Men; I had blue in places I didn’t even know existed. Afterward, I had to go around naked, with scales over my private parts, surrounded by men. That cures you of all inhibition.”

She’s filmed five other pictures since Hunger Games, including it’s sequel “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” which has just gone into production. She’ll also appear in “Devil You Know, “House at the End of the Street,” “The Silver Linings Playbook,” and “The Falling.”
